Hello! We are Kurt and Erica. Thank you for taking the time to hear our story and learning about us as prospective parents.

Our story began when Erica was just 14 and Kurt was 16. We met through friends in high school and became instant friends.  It wasn’t until a few years later that we started to develop feelings for each other and quickly moved into a more serious relationship. We were engaged on our one year anniversary and married a year later when Erica was 19 and Kurt was 21.

Our dream was to always have a family – we began trying shortly after getting married. We went through numerous doctor visits, infertility treatments, and after 13 years of trying, we found out that biological children were not going to be possible for us.

Then, near the end of 2019, we got a call that changed our lives forever – a birth mother wanted us to adopt her baby. Without any prenatal care – we waited patiently and a few short weeks later our daughter, Kinsley, was born. Our families rallied together to throw a shower and bless us with everything we needed.

Our hope is for Kinsley to have a sibling to share adventures, life and the unique story of adoption together. We cannot wait to welcome a beautiful child into our home through adoption again.

FAQ’s about placing a baby for Adoption

I'm considering giving my baby up for adoption. How much does that cost?

It won't cost you anything. If you choose to place your baby for adoption, all of your medical and legal fees will be covered and you may be eligible for financial assistance with other pregnancy-related expenses.

I'm experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and don't know who the birth father is. Can I still place my baby for adoption?

Yes. Even if you don’t know the identity of the birth father, you can still choose to make an adoption plan. However, every adoption situation is different. The adoption social worker you’re assigned to will get to know you and your story first, and then guide you through the process accordingly.

When is the right time to talk with an adoption professional?

You can make an adoption plan at any point in your pregnancy, even after the baby has been born. But, it's important to start the process as early in your pregnancy as possible. Connecting with those resources will allow you to gain access to important medical services, including prenatal care, to help ensure a healthy pregnancy.

When I create an adoption plan, will I get to choose who is in the room with me during delivery?

One aspect of your adoption plan is the "Hospital Plan" an outline of how you'd like your hospital stay and delivery to go. You can craft this on your own or with the help of your adoption social worker. But everything is up to you. You’ll be able to choose who comes to the hospital with you, who is in the room with you during delivery, and how much time you’d like to spend with the baby before signing the final papers.

How much contact will I have with the adoptive family after I place my baby with them?

As part of your adoption plan, you'll determine whether or not you’d like to have an open or closed adoption or something in between. Open adoptions may include phone calls, messaging (via social media, email, or text), and/or periodic visits each year. Closed adoptions may include no contact at all or annual updates provided to the birth parent(s) by the adoptive family. Each post-adoption relationship is different and can vary based on what an expectant mother chooses in her adoption plan.

01/04/2023

Hi!!! :)  We had an incredible December. Ericas Dad came into town from Vegas for Christmas. We went to a local Railroad and did the Polar Express. We met santa (a few times!) and enjoyed time together as a family.  Here are some of our highlights:    Riding the Polar Express    Our daughter had her first dance performance and did AMAZING! We were SO proud!  Meeting Santa!  The two best friends!  We are excited for 2023 to travel more, spend time with family, and hopefully add a sibling in our family for our daughter.  Thanks for taking the time to read our page.

Denver!

10/03/2022

We love Denver! It is a fun city to explore and our favorite NFL team is the Broncos. In September Ericas cousin got married in Denver. We took a fun family road trip there - explored the city, went to the beautiful wedding, and had a blast at the Broncos game. We got to see Ericas sister and her husband (who live in Arizona). And Ericas cousins and aunt too. We had so much fun!

4th Of July

07/18/2022

We love celebrating all holidays here - any reason to get dressed up in matching outfits is a win in our books. We threw a 4th of July party this year - rented a bounce house for the kids to play on and had a blast.  Our summer has been full of camping, boating, and next week we get to celebrate Erica's dads birthday party.
